Meeting Room Policy

The Edith Lowe Conference Room is available to any community group subject to the following rules and regulations:

  1. There is a $10.00 charge for the room (all day or hours needed).  This amount is payable (cash or check only) when the key is picked up.  The key must be returned to the library front desk if open or the book drop following the meeting.
  2. Smoking is prohibited in any part of the building at all times.
  3. The applicant must be in attendance for the duration of the scheduled meeting. Attendance at meeting is limited to 75.
  4. Personal events including, but not limited to, birthday parties, wedding receptions, baby showers, and reunions are not considered appropriate use of Libray meeting room.
  5. Religious-based study groups will be permitted providing other policy criteria is met.  Monetary offerings cannot be collected in library meeting rooms.
  6. The meeting space is not available for political campaigns or rally events.  Community groups will political affiliations are permitted to meet provided they are not engaging in campaign promotion.
  7. Meeting room may not be used for any commercial purposes including, but not limited to, sale of goods or services.  This includes fee for service program, accepting membership dues, selling raffle tickets, and collecting fees for tutoring.
  8. For profit business organizations that conduct training are permitted and subject to applicable meeting room fees, provided the training is free and open to the public.
  9. Due to liability issues, permission to use the Library meeting room will be denied to any group whose primary purpose involves physical activity or exercise, including but not limited to, cheerleading, dance class and martial arts.
  10. All reservations are subject to cancellation if the library requires use of the meeting room. In such cases, the library will notify the applicant as soon as possible.
  11. Use of tape, nails, or thumbtacks on walls is prohibited.
  12. Before leaving please check:
  • Thermostat (turn off)
  • Stack chairs against the wall after meeting
  • Sweep floor and put all trash in waste basket
  • Lights (in entrance, restrooms, kitchen, and meeting room)
  • Check restrooms for people
  • Lock doors (meeting room and both outer doors)
